In 1970, the Miss World competition took place in London, hosted by US comedy legend, Bob Hope. At the time, Miss World was the most-watched TV show on the planet with over 100 million viewers. Nothing notified to report!
ARCHIVE – May 2021:
The Annual Parish Assembly will be held on Tuesday 25th May – 7pm – Village Hall.
The Sheet Association had planned to repeat their successful Street Party of July 2018 as a biennial event and early last year had started planning it for July 2020. Obviously this had to be cancelled and it was hoped that it could be held this year 2021, but with uncertainties and responsibilities, and in spite of vaccinations, they have decided to play safe and are intending a celebratory return next year, 2022 when we should hopefully be well and truly settled into our ‘new normal’. Here’s hoping!
