MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE

Julie Robinson, Headteacher of Sheet Primary School has sent us this Newsletter. Hopefully we’ll have a couple of photos of their Christmas events on the website in January. In the meantime, also attached is a notice from the School concerning a need for a Co-opted Governor.
Sadly we say goodbye to Ambrose Barber who, as some of you will remember, was a former Chairperson of the Sheet Preservation Society and the first Chairperson of the Sheet Village Association. His son, Justin, has asked us to inform any Sheet residents who knew his father of the funeral arrangements. The funeral will take take place at St. Mary’s Church, Sheet, on Wednesday 18th December at 12 noon. Refreshments afterwards at the Queens Head.

A quiet month. No Film Club and no Parish Council meeting.
Enjoy the Summer holidays!
THE SHEET OLYMPICS held on Saturday 22nd June was a great success with many medals won. Hugely enjoyed by so many children – and adults, with stories of children insisting on wearing their medals to bed that night! Many thanks to The Sheet Association committee members for all their very hard work perfecting the logistics of such a fun event. And to Sheet School children for their ‘Chariots of Fire’ Opening Ceremony performance and creative Olympic torches.
8 teams competed – Australia, France, Greece, India, Kenya, Ukraine, UK and USA. India won Gold, Ukraine won Silver and Kenya won Bronze. And some great prizes were won in the Raffle too. A tasty BBQ and WI tea & cakes provided delicious fuel for the athletes and spectators, together with refreshing drinks from The Half Moon pub’s bar. And our fluent ‘Franglais’ speaking MC guided us expertly through the afternoon!
Thanks to Lucy and Sloane Pringle for the photographs
